1st place out of all my tomatoes in 2024 & 2023!
Alice’s Dream was bred in Poland in 2015 and is a very productive plant with good disease resistance. My fruits are orange and red stripes with the anthocyanin on the shoulders being stronger if plenty of sunshine reaches the tomatoes as they grow. The flesh is meaty, juicy and bicoloured with red veins and a complex sweet flavour with a citrus aroma.
2nd place in 2024 and 2023 taste tests.
This is a medium-sized beefsteak tomato which is thin-skinned, sweet and with few seeds. They change colour from yellow to orange and develop dark anthocyanin shoulders as they mature and ripen. They look stunning, taste delicious and I’m growing them again in 2024.
4th place in my 2024 taste tests.
Indeterminate. Beafsteak. Very good cropper. Dark red skin with green striping. Soft juicy dark red flesh with few seeds. Rich, savoury, umami flavours. A large and prolific slicing tomato packed with flavour.
5th place in my 2024 taste tests.
Pink Berkeley Tie Dye is turning out to be a regular, although the only thing to be aware of is they can go over-ripe very quickly. Other than that, they have good flavour, wonderful colouring and are perfect for slicing into sourdough sandwiches with salt, pepper, gratings of hard Italian cheese and a drizzle of olive oil. Absolutely delicious!
6th place in my 2024 taste tests.
A cross between Beauty King and P20 (OSU Blue).
Indeterminate. Regular to large size fruit. Very good cropper. Antho shoulders fading down to a bright orange skin. Juicy orange and pink flesh. Sweet rich tropical fruity flavours with citrus notes. Excellent tomato.
8th place in my 2024 taste tests.
9th place in my 2024 taste tests.
Originating from Australia, this tomato is a cross between Orange Heirloom and Rosella Purple, and was released in 2015.
10th place in my 2024 taste tests.
Ananas Noire: Text to come.
Honeycomb: A family favourite is the small and incredibly sweet cherry tomato, Honeycomb, producing a constant supply of sweet golden yellow cherry tomatoes. Perfect in salads and anytime you fancy a fresh, juicy snack. It’s the only F1 on my tomato grow list for 2024. Seeds from Suttons.
Tasting tomatoes is a subjective affair, because what I think tastes good, is likely to be different to yours.
So, apart from your taste buds being different to mine, there is also the weather, seasonal temperatures, and various other growing conditions that can effect what a tomato tastes like.
Now that is out of the bag, all of these tomatoes are well worth growing, and you may love them more than I do. That’s okay.

This year’s weather was cool, cloudy and a slightly damp squid which I think it effected this tomato. The plant was huge but the tomato flowers didn’t pollinate until they reached the very top!
However, if it had ripened earlier, it would have been number one or two in the top 10 taste tests! It really is that good.
Vying for 1st/2nd place in my 2024 taste tests.
